In case you haven’t seen them already, I’ve posted up my photos from our adventurous [alive not dead] Hawaiian vacation. [Hawaii Days] [Hawaii Nights] Wow – talk about a whirlwind several days. The only thing that woulda made it complete is a run-in with Kelly Hu ala “Growing Pains Goes to Hawaii” (anyone else remember that classic TV episode?).

In other news: I recently went over all of my recent favorite reads – most of them have really loner protagonists and generally are pretty damned depressing: My recent favorite authors: Haruki Murakami (Norwegian Wood, Kafka on the Shore), Chuck Palaniuk (Fight Club, Choke), Nick Hornby (About a Boy, High Fidelity). If you recognize these really different authors, you’d also realize that they all contain loner male characters. Also, my sentimental childhood favorite novel is still Catcher in the Rye (not to mention my favorite movie, The Graduate). Wow, is it possible that I’m becoming anti-social overtime because of the books I read? I really like these authors but perhaps you guys can recommend me some more life-affirming, positive novels that will lift my spirits rather than wanting to turn to The Anarchists Cookbook. No namby-pamby stuff – if you like the novelists that I mentioned above, perhaps you can recommend other authors that you like but who aren’t quite as depressing.
